Reflux Foods to Avoid
Reflux Foods to Avoid
There are many acid reflux foods to avoid. Alcohol is one the major culprits. So are chocolate, caffeinated soft drinks, and a host of other foods. And yet there many other foods that you can feast on without fear of acid reflux or heartburn.
Chewing gum and eating hard sweets allow excessive air to be swallowed, potentially causing gas and acid reflux.
Unfortunately, for those of us that like meat, fatty and fried foods also delay the emptying of the stomach so avoid any fatty meat.
Here are some other things to consider apart from foods to avoid with acid reflux:
- Eat smaller meals and more often
- Don’t eat just before going to bed.
- Raise the head of the bed or use pillows to raise your head when you sleep.
Moderation is the key.
